D1.3 - Evaluation Results for Cloud Infrastructure and Federated Cloud Mechanisms (Jan 2018)

This deliverable is split into three main sections: cloud federation mechanisms, monitoring and measurement tools, and cloud infrastructure. In the first section we present evaluation results of the cloud federation mechanisms—a joint work among several SSICLOPS partners. The second section describes the results of methods and tools used to monitor and measure intra- and inter-cloud components. Finally, the third section describes the evaluation results of various enhancements of the cloud infrastructures.

D5.2 - Final Report on Knowledge Transfer Activities (Jan 2018)

Deliverable D5.2 is the Final Report on Knowledge Transfer activities which provides in detail the dissemination activities performed during the last 15 months of the SSICLOPS project (November 2016 to January 2018). This deliverable follows Deliverable D5.1 Interim Report on Knowledge Transfer activities which covered the first 21 months of the SSICLOPS project (February 2015 to October 2016).

D4.3 - Measurements, experiments, system analysis report on SSICLOPS scenarios (Jan 2018)

In this report, the final results for the solutions developed by the partners in the SSICLOPS project are presented and evaluated. Improvements that result from solving the problems and bottlenecks identified by SSICLOPS are discussed in detail. In particular, Hyrise-R in-memory database was implemented and different replication schemes were tested including partial replication achieved with use of Compact Privacy Policy Language (CPPL).

D2.4 - Report on Security Architecture for Cloud Systems (Jan 2018)

This deliverable D2.4 presents the project contributions to several important domains of cloud security architectures. The work to enable users to specify their own fine-grained privacy and security attributes for handling their data by cloud service providers and to negotiate these attributes with the providers is covered, and strategies for the providers for supporting user-specified policies are proposed and analyzed, including the impact on performance.

D5.1 - Interim Report on Knowledge Transfer Activities (May 2017)

Deliverable D5.1 is the Interim Report on Knowledge Transfer activities which provides in detail the dissemination activities performed during the first 21 months of the year of the SSICLOPS project (February 2015 to October 2016).

D2.3 - Extension of Security Architecture to Hybrid (Inter-) Cloud Systems (Feb 2017)

This deliverable describes the benefits of SSICLOPS’ Compact Privacy Policy Language (CPPL) in cloud and federated cloud settings, and shows CPPL’s suitability for these environments with an extensive evaluation. In-depth discussions about how CPPL can be integrated and leveraged in the context of the SSICLOPS use cases are also presented.

D2.2 - Design of Inter-Cloud Security Policies, Architecture, and Annotations for Data Storage (Jan 2016)

This deliverable describes the design of a privacy policy language that enables cloud users to specify their own expectations on the handling of data that they provide to the cloud. Thereby, the policy language takes into account the special requirements raised by the application in the cloud scenario, which raises special needs regarding efficiency, scalability, expressiveness, and flexibility. To evaluate the applicability of our privacy policy language design, an exemplary application scenario that involves the provisioning of Hyrise in-memory database instances in an OpenStack-based cloud environment is presented.

D2.1 - Report on Body of Knowledge in Secure Cloud Data Storage (Jul 2015)

This deliverable describes the state of the art of privacy policy languages with respect to the scenario of cloud computing as well as methods for secure storage and processing.

D4.1 - Use case descriptions (Jul 2015)

This deliverable describes in detail four distinct use cases used to test SSICLOPS concepts against realistic conditions.

  • Cloud-based In-memory Databases
  • High-Energy Physics Workloads
  • Network Function Virtualization in a Next-Gen Point of Presence
  •  Content Distribution and Caching Workload

Specifically, problems and bottlenecks were investigated in terms of realization, as well as the identification of functional and non-functional requirements.

D6.2 - Quality Assurance Plan (Apr 2015)

The Quality Assurance Plan described in this report defines the general approach to quality assurance and the procedures to be followed for the production of outcomes such as deliverables or reports. It documents the co-ordination and follow-up procedures for monitoring progress and responding to changes.

D6.1 - Project Presentation (Feb 2015)

This deliverable describes the SSICLOPS H2020 project which started in February 2015 and has a duration of three years. SSICLOPS focuses on techniques for the management of federated private cloud infrastructures, in particular cloud networking techniques, within software-defined datacentres and across wide-area networks. The project will design, implement, demonstrate, and evaluate four specific use cases; namely:

  • Cloud-based In-memory Databases
  • High-Energy Physics Workloads
  • Network Function Virtualization in a Next-Gen Point of Presence
  • Content Distribution and Caching Workload
